Legumes for the traditional oriental kitchen
RAPUNZEL purchases red lentils and chickpeas from Southern Anatolia. These legumes are important staple foods in the Turkish kitchen that are traditionally grown in Southern Anatolia.
In organic farming legumes are important crops for crop rotation as they can bind airborne nitrogen in the soil, fertilizing the soil in a natural way.
After the harvest, the legumes are mechanically cleaned, e.g. with brushing machines. In order to eliminate any contamination the lentils are inspected and sorted one more time.
