Rapadura whole cane sugar HAND IN HAND

Rapadura whole cane sugar is characterised by slightly caramel-like flavour, a pleasant malt taste and a strong brown colour. Thanks to its special taste, Rapadura is ideal to sweeten desserts, pastries and drinks. Rapadura Whole Cane Sugar is made from pure sugar cane juice. It is produced according to a traditional method and is not refined. This preserves the full molasses content of the sugar cane. Rapadura whole cane sugar comes from our HAND IN HAND programme which combines organic agriculture with fair trade.

Preparation
Mature sugar canes are harvested, cleaned and chopped into small pieces. In the sugar mill, the cane juice is carefully extracted, filtered and heated. The resulting mass is stirred until it crystallizes. Then, it is thickened in the evaporation plant, dried, ground and packed.
