Fairness, security
and high social standards.

For us, fair trade means to give our suppliers security. In addition to a long-term cooperation and guaranteed purchase quantities, social aspects such as occupational safety, a secure workplace, and health and social insurance also play important roles. Unfortunately, this is not self-evident in many countries.

With our proprietary, externally-certified HAND IN HAND fair trade program, we have been implementing fair working conditions and high social standards in the countries of the global south since 1992.

These aspects are also a must for us in our cooperation with all other suppliers. That is why we have defined a clear and binding process for the cooperation with our suppliers.

There are many outstanding examples of the impacts of this attitude. One example is our HAND IN HAND partner Achal from India. This supplier of fair organic cashews employs its workers year-round.

In addition to vacation pay, the workers also receive clothing and shoes every year. In the company kindergarten, employees' children are cared for in a caring manner and school children receive subsidies for their school supplies. These family-friendly structures make it possible for women to pursue a regular and fairly-paid job.
